NBC is bringing back College Bowl for a second season.
Hosts Peyton Manning and Cooper Manning will return for the sophomore season along with a new showrunner. Harry Friedman, who spent 25 years exec producing Wheel of Fortune and Jeopardy!, will oversee the show as showrunner and exec producer.
The show, which is a reboot of the game that originally aired on radio stations in 1953 before moving to TV in 1959, launched in June 2021. It features teams representing various colleges competing in a series of question round – 16 elite teams representing some of the nation's top schools will go head-to-head. The winning team will take home a scholarship with sponsor Capital One awarding $1M in tuition assistance.
Friedman, who recently teamed up with former Dancing with the Stars host Tom Bergeron on a new take on Tic-Tac-Dough for NBCUniversal, replaces The Titan Games exec producer David Friedman, who was showrunner on season one.
The series is produced by Steve Mosko-run Village Roadshow Television and Universal Television Alternative Studio. Exec producers include Peyton, Cooper and Eli Manning for Omaha Productions, Richard Reid for Richard Reid Productions and Mark Itkin for Tough Lamb Media.
Just like a Jedi, we'll return back with a Twitch game show going "Game Over" on it. That and much more from a galaxy far, far away, so don't you go away.

It's class dismissed for "School'd."
One of the biggest game shows to hit the Twitch platform appears to have come to an end after a controversial conclusion to its second season.
Mizkif, who streams on his popular game show "Schooled," announced on April 26 that, due to cheating, he will no longer continue with the show.
While the concept is relatively simple, it also leaves the door open to anyone to take advantage of cheating. Schooled is a game show that quizzes fans from all around the world in a fast-paced, first-to-answer setting, with the sole objective to win as much money as possible during the episode.
Following the conclusion of season 2 of Schooled, Mizkif, known by his real name Matthew Rinaudo, stated that he was "done with this show" and that he "can't do this anymore." Having grown his following to well over two million followers, Mizkif gained notoriety for his outgoing personality during the quiz-like show that tests people's knowledge on a wide range of topics. He took a break in September 2021 following his break-up with then-partner Maya, but returned in grand fashion to continue hosting the show. With the drama behind him, he continued on with hosting the beloved Schooled show, but continued to hit more cheating controversies along the way.
User EEvisu will go down like the proverbial straw to break the camel's back, as he was caught by onlookers in the act of cheating while answering a question on the April 26 episode. When asked, "Who wrote the social contract," EEvisu (nee Phil Visu) was seen peering down and off-screen for a moment. Fans tuning in were quick to go into forensics and check the reflection in EEvisu's glasses, discovering him holding a cell phone in his hand while searching for the answer to the question.
Visu today posted a video apology for cheating on the One True King (OTK) network's popular OTKSchool game show. The OTKSchooled show, in which internet personalities compete in a test of knowledge with a cash prize on the line, saw EE initially take victory over Emily "ExtraEmily" Xuechun Zhang, before his decision to cheat was uncovered and the win revoked.

Hit new ITV game show the 1% Club, hosted by Lee Mack and produced by Magnum Media, is to return for a second series, ITV have announced.
The Saturday night show, currently on air in its first run, launched ahead of the average for its schedule slot with 3.4 million and a 25 per cent audience share [consolidating to 4m in the first week after its episode one TX on 9 April] growing its audience to hit a 30 per cent share for its second and third episodes and draw 4.5m [episode two's consolidated figure a week after TX].
The show's format sees 100 contestants begin every show - but to make it to the end and win the top prize of up to £100,000, contestants must correctly answer a question only 1% of the country would get right. Contestants of all ages and backgrounds can take part, because, unlike most quizzes, no swotting up on general knowledge is required to do well. Logic and common sense are the key to success.

ALERT! Netflix announced today the release window for its hit reality competition series The Circle – and it's closer than you imagine. The streamer is marketing it as "the spiciest season" ever, which begs the question: how? The competition follows a group of people who interact through the "Circle", a social network in which you can present yourself as anyone you like. The most popular person in the Circle chat gets a cash prize after being voted by members of the competition.
The Circle is BACK and this season we're bringing the ~SPICE~! Get ready for new players, wild alliances, and the spiciest twists and turns yet. Season 4 premieres Wednesday, May 4, with new episodes dropping Wednesday, May 11, Wednesday, May 18, and the Finale on Wednesday, May 25.
For the new season, Netflix has kept the rollout strategy it has been using for its most popular reality series: dropping a certain number of episodes every week, as opposed to releasing the full season on the same day. This helps keep the buzz of reality competitions going, as well as preventing people from giving major spoilers – fans have time to catch up before the final episode is released.
The Circle Season 4 will premiere Wednesday, May 4 on Netflix, with weekly drops of four episodes leading up to the May 25 finale.

The iconic, epic culinary battle that is Iron Chef is back.
"So, feeling hungry old friend?" Alton Brown asks Mark Dacascos in the official teaser for Iron Chef: Quest for an Iron Legend. "Hungry for battle!" Dacascos exclaims. "What a coincidence because that's exactly what's on the menu," Brown tells him before passing him apple, which he bites.
Chefs once again battle head-to-head in the new series, premiering on Netflix on Wednesday, June 15. Watch the teaser below.
Brown returns to the kitchen stadium to host with Kristen Kish. Dacascos reprises his role of The Chairman.
Based on Fuji Television Network's format, the series is reborn with a supersized approach. "It's been called the toughest culinary challenge a chef will ever experience. This is where world-class cuisine meets high-octane sports. Five new trailblazing Iron Chefs will welcome brave Challenger Chefs to the reimagined Kitchen Stadium, where they'll face off and be pushed to the limits of endurance and creativity, as they cook up extraordinary culinary creations," Netflix teases of the eight-episode series. "The competition's most successful Challenger will return to battle in a grand finale for the chance to be named the first ever 'Iron Legend.'"
Eytan Keller, Daniel Calin, and Ross Weintraub serve as executive producers for the series produced by Keller Productions, in association with 3 Ball Productions. Netflix will also be releasing Iron Chef Mexico and Iron Chef Brazil this year.

Here's a segment in which we seperate the light side from the dark side................

Buzz-GSN where we ask you guys on the Game Show Network Facebook page anything and everything.
We'll let Julia Deren go first.
Did I seriously just see a woman hand a winning card to another player on a rerun of catch 21 from 2018? She said “I’m gonna mess up her 11” and she gives her a card that was a 10. Yeah, how is that going to mess up her 11? I couldn’t believe I just saw that.
Talk abotu an epic fail. We go ahead to Michael Ewing.
Watching Chain Reaction with Natalie who was on "Divided" and got eliminated after Robby, Jacobi and Charmee lost over $7200 by eliminating her.
It's a classic case of Deja vu. One GSN contestant goes on another GSN show. We go next to Jeni Nelson Pink.
I would love to see more OLD game shows like card sharks, password, Hollywood squares . . .
Yep. Me too. We go ahead to Judy Hembree.
Please take 25 words or less off. Bring back catch 21 or the beast. Reruns are better than this show.
What, you don't like it? The chase 1st edition was overused in reruns. Catch 21 is still there. So they took out the Beast for Meredith. Next up, Charlie Aplin.
We watch the GSN almost daily. It would be nice if there was s rotation where shows like Master Minds and Catch 21 were on at night vice the only night time options 7 days a week being America Says and Family Feud. I would hope others agree and we can see some greater variety at night.
And we're going to end it with Diane Shannon.
I will not be doing any more evaluations of prospective hosts until I find out what happened to Tug Of Words!!! I loved that show and it has just disappeared. Rashad was fine as host and the word game moved quickly and was thought provoking. Some of the shows on GSN are so simplified, they are boring. What's wrong with this show??? I don't get it!!! No more assistance until I find out where it went!!!
It's gone forever.......possibly. Why settle for a game based on a board game than a game based on a children's playground game from summer camp?

Welcome to the class of 2012. I thought we go back a decade and show you one of the hits that stood out on TV.
Face Off made McKenzie Westmore a host and that's a good thing, but what makes it a better thing is that once people watched it, you never looked at TV the same way again. Although it premiered in 2011, Face Off took makeup artists and went all Mario Paint, MSPaint, Etch A Sketch and Crayola on the people who can transform them into well known nerdy characters. For 13 seasons, this program attracted judges like Glenn Hetrick and Ve Neill, who was along for the ride and many others who stopped by too like Greg Nicotero, Rick baker and Neville Page. If Peacock were to revive it, Mckenzie could still be doing it. Right? Right.

That's it for this week, today's consolation prize is a Knifesaber. Cuts through meats, fish, wood, marble and anything else too. Parents, ask your kids for adult supervision before playing around with.......oh yeah, you don't want the kids to get hurt with it.
Don't forget to email me at kellypierre8@gmail.com, coppockonsports@yahoo.com, Pierre Kelly on FB and @Johnny_Arcade on twitter. Also I'm on Snapchat as MisterGSN and Instagram as MrJackbox. We will return next Wednesday, and until we return, Play on playas.
Oh, and one more thing....................
Colbi: Game Show Live! is a presentation of The Vonbuskirk Company, Jackbox Media Services and Pluto TV distribution which may or may not be responible for the damage already done.
