Opening Theme

Colbi King: From coast to coast and around the world, welcome to....

Now, America's favorite contestant, Pierre Kelly!

Me:Welcome everybody to Game Show Live! where we get lit and get involved. Let's kick it off with......

The  Talking Through The Medias opening toss up story.

We got some upfront news to get to, so let's get right on with it.

The CW Network will launch its seven-night 2022-23 primetime schedule in the Fall of 2022 with a strategic mix of new and returning original scripted series and alternative programming, it was announced today by Mark Pedowitz, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of The CW Network.

"As The CW looks towards the future, we are evolving and adapting to become more than just a network. We are a brand that drives our passionate and dedicated audiences to engage directly with our programming across all platforms, both linear and digital," said Mark Pedowitz, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of The CW Network. "In the tradition of The CW's commitment to high-quality programming that features diverse and inclusive storytelling and characters, we are rolling out a fall lineup that features an exciting new crop of series including the prequel to one of our most successful franchises, THE WINCHESTERS, a wild-west origin story to another hit CW franchise, WALKER INDEPENDENCE, the action-packed original series PROFESSIONALS, the delightful legal drama FAMILY LAW and our latest magical alternative series MAGIC WITH THE STARS, as well as our expansion of The CW DC Universe GOTHAM KNIGHTS this midseason. We will also be saying goodbye to an iconic CW series that shaped and defined popular culture, RIVERDALE. All of these new series will also bolster The CW's growing digital footprint by adding to the growing library of content available to fans on our free, ad-supported CW App."

The CW is also joining forces with the United States Surgeon General on his effort to tackle the number one issue facing America's youth: mental health. Working closely with Vice Admiral Vivek H. Murthy, MD, MBA, the network will be launching a new initiative next season that will address this important issue by developing storylines across its programming, collaborating with advertisers and affiliates and using the network's expansive social media reach to engage directly with viewers.

Two of The CW's longest-running franchises come together on Fridays, with the ninth season of PENN & TELLER: FOOL US (8:00-9:00pm ET/PT) paired with the eleventh season of WHOSE LINE IS IT ANYWAY? (9:00-9:30pm & 9:30-10:00pm ET/PT).

In addition to the Friday night renewals, the CW has added two new shows:
- MAGIC WITH THE STARS: In each episode of MAGIC WITH THE STARS, two celebrities train with professional magicians and compete to create a show-stopping series of magic performances. The celebrity competitors are tasked with mastering three major categories of magic, which they perform in front of a team of judges led by magician Criss Angel. Only the highest-scoring celebrities will be invited back to the finale where they will compete for the golden wand. Produced by Angel Production Worldwide, Inc., MAGIC WITH THE STARS is executive produced by Criss Angel, Dave Baram and Erich Recker.
- RECIPE FOR DISASTER: In each episode of RECIPE FOR DISASTER, three professional chefs and their cooking partners compete to prepare spectacular dishes under absurdly adverse conditions. Our studio transforms into a bizarre new world each week, replete with themed disasters that challenge our chefs in ways they never imagined. They will attempt the perfect sear while stranded on an in-studio "desert island" during monsoon season, prep ramen while pulling off an art heist, or create a show-stopping soufflé while dodging aliens on Mars. To make matters worse, their cooking partners are people from their lives who are total kitchen novices. Who will impress the judges, and whose dishes will succumb to the ridiculous disasters du jour? Ultimately, only one team will be crowned Masters of Disaster! Produced by 3Bird Media, RECIPE FOR DISASTER is executive produced by Jennifer Twamley and Andrika Lawren..

Next up......

HGTV and Food Network are bolstering their lineups. The two cable networks, which are owned by Warner Bros. Discovery, have unveiled their first slates following the merger – although the faces remain familiar..

Jane Latman, who runs both networks as President, Home & Food Content and Streaming, Warner Bros. Discovery, said, "HGTV and Food Network are two of the biggest, most influential brands in television with programming that more than 25 million viewers seek out and watch live weekly. We are the established leaders in the home and food genres, and our top priority remains developing, producing and promoting new series that fill our bench with even more talented experts with star power. You also will see us generating fresh ideas that keep our existing fan-favorite series top of mind with this passionate audience."

Food Network's new slate...
- It's CompliPlated (Premieres on Food Network and launches on discovery+ Thursday, August 11, at 10 p.m. ET/PT): It's CompliPlated is a hilarious new cooking show that has determined chefs attempting to please the most particular panel of eaters with the same plate of food. Hosted by New York Times bestselling-author, actress, vegan foodie and inaugural Food Network Hot List designee, Tabitha Brown, this series is for all the home cooks out there who are looking for ways to make the delicious dishes we all love, while accommodating all the different diets, food allergies and tastes in their household. Chopped judge and Tournament of Champions II winner, Maneet Chauhan, joins the action each week as the competing chefs pull out all the stops to see who can make the best, universal meal for their complicated, picky preferences and walk away with $10,000!
- Guy's Ultimate Game Night (Premieres on Food Network Wednesday, August 31, at 9 p.m. ET/PT): If you put a game show and a food competition show in a blender, you get Guy's Ultimate Game Night. Hollywood celebrities and their closest friends and family join host Guy Fieri in the Flavortown Lounge for an evening of food, drinks and off-the-hook food-related games and trivia like "Dish Pics," "The Guy-Q Test," and "Charade the Pantry," as well as hands-on food challenges like "Blind Baker" and "Omelette Offs." It's all fun and games as the guests must stay on their toes as they battle for crazy prizes, and the best part is, it's all in the name of charity.

Now to another network.

CBS today announced its 2022-2023 primetime programming lineup of CBS Originals, featuring four new dramas, one alternative series, special event programming and 18 returning series. For 2021-2022, the Network finished #1 for the 14th straight season, winning 19 of the past 20 seasons.

The four new series for fall are the dramas EAST NEW YORK, starring Amanda Warren as the newly promoted boss of the 74th Precinct located on the edge of Brooklyn; FIRE COUNTRY, from Jerry Bruckheimer and inspired by series star Max Thieriot's (SEAL TEAM) experiences growing up in Northern California fire country; humorous legal drama SO HELP ME TODD, starring Academy Award winner Marcia Gay Harden as a meticulous successful attorney and Skylar Astin as her aimless private detective son she hires to work for her law firm; and the reality romance adventure THE REAL LOVE BOAT, inspired by the classic hit scripted series "The Love Boat."

"CBS had another incredible season. In addition to repeating as America's most-watched network, we launched several breakout hits, not to mention winning and improving many time periods across our schedule," said Kelly Kahl, president of CBS Entertainment. "For the new season, we once again looked for ways to strengthen our position with new, compelling series, scheduling them strategically to guarantee sampling and maximize consistency and flow. We believe these great new shows, returning hits and our robust slate of event programming positions us for another winning year."

In addition to CBS' new and returning top series, its year-round schedule of original programming also features annual marquee events, including the GRAMMY Awards, the CMT Music Awards, Kennedy Center Honors, the Tony Awards, NFL playoffs in January and NCAA Division I Men's Basketball Championship in March, among other special event programming.

Upcoming previously announced alternative series include SUPERFAN, a musical spectacle disguised as a game show; LINGO, a word-twisting, fast-thinking game show executive-produced and hosted by Emmy Award winner RuPaul Charles; TOUGH AS NAILS; and SECRET CELEBRITY RENOVATION.

Now on to ABC.

Craig Erwich, president, Hulu Originals & ABC Entertainment, today unveiled the ABC primetime schedule for the 2022-2023 fall season, featuring a strong, returning slate of established, fan-favorite shows and two new powerhouse scripted series, both anchored by bold and compelling female leads. Additionally, ABC adds a sprinkle of star power to long-running game show staples, with the pickup of the all-new, high-stakes "Celebrity Jeopardy!," which joins the Sunday night lineup, paired with the return of "Celebrity Wheel of Fortune."

The network continues to deliver on its success as the season's No. 1 entertainment network among Adults 18-49 for the third year in a row, winning six of the last eight seasons based on entertainment programming. ABC ranks or ties as the No. 1 entertainment network on 14 of the 32 weeks of the season to date among Adults 18-49, marking more weekly wins with entertainment programming than any other network.

"Our fall schedule is a testament to our strong, dynamic programming slate that we're continuing to nurture with top talent, world-class, award-winning storytellers and marquee titles," said Erwich. "By capitalizing on the success of our strongest assets, we're betting on stability while also introducing and investing in key projects that will allow us to build on our momentum as the No. 1 entertainment network for the third consecutive year."

Beloved unscripted series returning midseason include ABC's No. 1 program this season in Total Viewers and preeminent singing competition series, "American Idol," the nation's guilty pleasure, "The Bachelor," and laugh-out-loud courtroom comedy "Judge Steve Harvey." They will be joined by "Celebrity Wheel of Fortune", "Shark Tank", and "America's Funniest Home Videos".

Dancing With the Stars, meanwhile, has already been renewed for Seasons 31 and 32 — but in a stunning development, the reality competition is moving to Disney+ this fall, marking the streamer's first foray into live programming.

Jeopardy! is heading to primetime once again this fall as ABC announced plans for a special series run of Celebrity Jeopardy!. Similar to the network's recent run of Celebrity Wheel of Fortune, this latest competition will pit celebrity contestants against one another for a chance to win money for a charity of their choice. The format has been done in the past on the game show which will be helmed by primetime host Mayim Bialik.

Meanwhile, Jesse Palmer is expanding his Bachelor duties at ABC. The former Bachelor who took over for Chris Harrison in season 26 will now emcee Bachelor in Paradise, as well. The Bachelor spinoff that features previous contestants from The Bachelor and The Bachelorette will air Mondays and Tuesdays this fall. Wells Adams will stay on as the bartender at the Mexico resort.

Then there's NBC.

On the heels of another season as #1 in the key 18-49 demo, the network announces a fall schedule featuring dominant fan-favorites, new original series and tentpole event programming. All network shows will stream next-day, exclusively on Peacock.

MONDAY: The most-watched television show of the decade, "The Voice" returns to anchor the night for its 22nd cycle, welcoming multi-platinum global recording artist Camila Cabello and the return of global superstar Gwen Stefani, alongside John Legend, Blake Shelton and host Carson Daly at 8 p.m. All new reimagined sci-fi drama "Quantum Leap," starring Raymond Lee, launches at 10 p.m.

TUESDAY: The melody continues as "The Voice" cues up the return of the season's #1 new drama "La Brea" at 9 p.m. followed by the highly anticipated final season of fan-favorite "New Amsterdam" at 10 p.m.

WEDNESDAY: Television's highest-rated night of drama returns with the One Chicago lineup kicking off at 8 p.m. with "Chicago Med," continuing with "Chicago Fire" and concluding with timeslot winner "Chicago P.D." at 10 p.m.

THURSDAY: Dick Wolf's iconic brand owns the night with the flagship "Law & Order" kicking off Season 22 at 8 p.m. followed by the record-extending 24th season of "Law & Order: SVU." The night concludes with the third season of "Law & Order: Organized Crime" at 10 p.m.

FRIDAY: Peyton Manning quarterbacks Friday nights with the return of 8 p.m. game show "Capital One College Bowl," timed perfectly to football season, and leading into Friday's #1 newsmagazine, "Dateline NBC." In November, the laughs begin with George Lopez's family comedy "Lopez vs. Lopez" at 8 p.m., teeing up the third season of Dwayne Johnson bio-series "Young Rock" at 8:30 p.m.

SUNDAY: #1 primetime television show for a record 11 consecutive years, "NBC Sunday Night Football" will broadcast 20 regular-season games throughout the NFL season.

"While leaning into our strong, stable schedule in the fall, we're also rethinking legacy launch timing to give our shows the best chance for success," said Frances Berwick, Chairman, Entertainment Networks, NBCUniversal Television and Streaming. "With the huge reach that our affiliate partner stations provide, coupled with exclusive next-day availability on Peacock, our NBC shows will truly be accessible to audiences in any way that they want to watch."

"We're continuing to invest in content for NBC that not only has the huge broad appeal that defines the platform, but also the ability to continue to find fans across our platforms following its broadcast debut; a strategy we've already seen a lot of success with this season," said Susan Rovner, Chairman, Entertainment Content, NBCUniversal Television and Streaming. "We're very excited by the new additions to our lineup, which we believe will super-serve our linear audience. In addition, we will continue to develop and order pilots, all of which will help strengthen a robust year-round season."

The world of unscripted competition is red hot for midseason and summer with a pair of competition imports: new game show "The Wheel," hosted by comedian Michael McIntyre and based on a smash hit UK format, features contestants aiming to win big with the help of celebrity guests playing on a giant spinning wheel, and Dutch format "Million Dollar Island," which will feature 100 contestants who attempt to forge friendships and build alliances as they plot to stay on a remote desert island for up to 50 days and compete to win their share of the ultimate $1 million prize.

Returning competition favorites are also on the menu as Jimmy Fallon hosts celebrities for more musical fun and games in the second season of "That's My Jam," and viewer favorite "The Wall" returns to the party. Dick Wolf also enters the unscripted space with the docuseries "LA Fire and Rescue," which follows the real-life heroes of the Los Angeles County Fire Department.

The fall schedule is preceded by an action-packed summer on NBC, where the network has ranked #1 in the key demo for nine consecutive years and #1 in total viewers for six years running. Season 17 of "America's Got Talent" kicks things off in May along with new social media-inspired dance challenge "Dancing with Myself," featuring Shakira, Nick Jonas and Liza Koshy. "American Ninja Warrior" is back to thrill fans in June for season 14 and in July an all-new season of "Who Do You Think You Are?" debuts with Allison Janney, Zachary Levi, Nick Offerman, Billy Porter, Zachary Quinto and Bradley Whitford. August sees the arrival of iconic game show "Password," from Jimmy Fallon and hosted by Emmy Award-winning actress Keke Palmer, who will be joined by Fallon and a celebrity cast.

Making It, Family Game Fight and AGT: Extreme did not make it into NBC's schedule and it seems that they are the latest non-scripted series to neither be canceled or renewed – in a growing trend as highlighted by Fox earlier this morning as well as ABC with series such as Supermarket Sweep and Who Wants To Be A Millionaire?

But what about Fox? Well.......

Charlie Collier, CEO, FOX Entertainment, today will unveil the FOX content slate for the 2022-2023 television season to the national advertising community during its in-person Upfront Presentation. FOX is adding three new dramas, two new animated comedies and one new unscripted series to its lineup, expanding its content strategy with increased program ownership that spans scripted, reality and animation. Original content from in-house business units FOX Entertainment Studios, Studio Ramsay Global, FOX Alternative Entertainment and Bento Box Entertainment will drive growth and fuel thematic scheduling across network and streaming.

"FOX Entertainment enters the Upfront - a week literally built for broadcasters to align with advertisers - as the only company, no matter the platform, with advertising at its core. Advertisers have been our focus since the start of this company, and we're proud that this too is proof of FOX's differentiation," said Charlie Collier. "As you'll see during our presentation, building barriers between our best content and our brand-partners simply isn't our business model."

Returning FOX series include dramas 9-1-1: LONE STAR (Season Four) and THE CLEANING LADY (Season Two); comedies CALL ME KAT (Season Three) and WELCOME TO FLATCH (Season Two); animated series THE SIMPSONS (Season 34), FAMILY GUY (Season 20), BOB'S BURGERS (Season 12), THE GREAT NORTH (Season Three) and HOUSEBROKEN (Season Two); and unscripted series THE MASKED SINGER (Season Eight), CRIME SCENE KITCHEN (Season Two) and, as previously announced, HELL'S KITCHEN (Season 21). Additional series renewals to be announced.

FOX doubles down on unscripted series from Gordon Ramsay with GORDON RAMSAY'S FOOD STARS, the award-winning chef's all-new search for the next big food & drink entrepreneur. GORDON RAMSAY'S FOOD STARS will join this season's #1 new entertainment series, NEXT LEVEL CHEF, which will debut its second season immediately following SUPER BOWL LVII, airing Sunday, Feb. 12, 2023. THE MASKED SINGER, CRIME SCENE KITCHEN and, as previously announced, HELL'S KITCHEN return next season. Additionally, new seasons of FANTASY ISLAND and LEGO MASTERS, previously scheduled to air this summer, now will air during the 2022-2023 season. LEGO MASTERS also will air the brand-new multiple-night event CELEBRITY LEGO MASTERS: HOLIDAY BRICKTACULAR.

In Gordon Ramsay's Food Stars, the chef and restaurateur plans to focus his attention on the most "exciting and innovative new food and drink entrepreneurs" by backing the winner of his latest competition with an angel investment. The series will be produced by Studio Ramsay Global (SRG) and Fox Alternative Entertainment. Ramsay serves as executive producer along with Lisa Edwards and Danny Schrader, who will also be the showrunner. It is based on Ramsay's own BBC series, which launched on the British public broadcaster last month. The UK series offers 12 up and coming food and drink entrepreneurs the opportunity to compete for £150,000 in investment.

There is no sign of The Masked Singer spinoff The Masked Dancer, which aired between December 2020 and February 2021, Wayne Brady-hosted Game of Talents, which premiered in March 2021, Rob Lowe-hosted Mental Samurai, which launched its second season in May 2021 and avatar-led singing competition Alter Ego, which performed its first tune in September 2021. It marks a new trend in unscripted where shows are not picked up or canceled and essentially being parked. Some may return – as So You Think You Can Dance, which returns three years after it was last on air – and others will quietly go away.

The schedule will be announced at a later date.

I think my brain just hurt from reporting all the things, but we finally have a segment that tells us who keeps us singing as we go and keeps us out of a bad American idol audition. It's the Yay & Yawn of May.

The Yay: Don't Forget The Lyrics! An old Fox show from way back when get revived. Same format, same energy, newer host because Wayne was busy dealing on the Tiffany network.

The Yawn: Ken Jennnings. He's leaving the hosting reins up to Mayim for the rest of the season. So why can't Mayim be the new host of Jeopardy! And why can't anybody else who wants to be the new host of Jeopardy! Anybody?

The long-running game show Wheel of Fortune is set to embark on its first-ever live tour, bringing a replica of the iconic prize wheel to fans across North America.

As first reported by Variety, Wheel of Fortune Live! will perform over 60 dates starting on September 8, offering fans a unique opportunity to spin the wheel and solve the puzzles on the tour's puzzle board to win prizes including $10,000 or trips to Paris and Hawaii, among others.

The tour is produced by Right Angle Entertainment, marking a new partnership between Sony and Right Angle.

"This partnership with Right Angle presents an opportunity to expand our reach to give more people a live experience as close to being on the televised show as you can get without actually being in the studio," said Suzanne Prete (via Variety), Executive Vice President, Game Shows for Sony Pictures Television. "We look forward to providing this incredible local immersive experience to people who might not otherwise make it out to Los Angeles to be on the set with Pat and Vanna."

Wheel of Fortune launched in 1975 and is one of the longest-running syndicated game shows in U.S. television history. Hosted by Pat Sajak, with Vanna White, the show is currently in its 39th season. The popular series also led to the primetime ABC spinoff Celebrity Wheel of Fortune.

"Partnering with Sony to take America's Game on the road for the first time is an honor for Right Angle," said Justin Sudds, Right Angle Entertainment's co-founder. "This game has a fan base that spans generations, and we can't wait to bring it to theaters across North America, giving fans the chance to live the dream of spinning the Wheel and winning big live on stage!"

CNN has ordered a documentary about the rise and fall of mobile game show HQ Trivia and has moved Eva Longoria: Searching for Mexico from its fallen streaming service CNN+ to its linear network.

The news was revealed by Chris Licht, chairman and chief executive officer of CNN Worldwide, at the Warner Bros. Discovery Upfront in New York.

The untitled documentary about the app is directed by Salima Koroma (Dreamland: The Burning of Black Wall Street) and produced by The Circus producer Left/Right.

It will tell the story fo the rocket-like rise and sudden implosion of the once-ubiquitous mobile game show, which drew millions of daily users including celebrity fans including Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson and Kelly Clarkson.

The appeal of the promising phenomenon where correctly answering a series of 12 questions won the players cash prizes, quickly gave way to corporate clashes, jealousies, questionable leadership, and even a tragic death. The gameplay was simple and the concept clear, but like so many well-financed toppled tech start-ups before it, the antics behind the screens were rife with drama, destruction, and dysfunction – this is the story of the shitshow.

The doc will launch in 2023.

Hungry for something? Well.............

Five culinary superstars will be sharpening their knives and donning the iconic Iron Chef jackets in Netflix's upcoming revival of the cooking competition series, Iron Chef: Quest for an Iron Legend. Curtis Stone, Dominique Crenn, Marcus Samuelsson, Ming Tsai, and Gabriela Cámara are set to defend Kitchen Stadium as the new Iron Chefs when the show premieres June 15.

Stone is no stranger to culinary competition shows, having appeared on Take Home Chef, Top Chef Masters, and Top Chef Junior. The Michelin-starred Australian chef is the creative force behind Maude in Beverly Hills, Gwen Butcher Shop & Restaurant in Hollywood, and Georgie in Dallas.

Crenn has shattered glass ceilings for women in cooking, becoming the first woman in the United States to receive three Michelin stars. A 2016 episode of Netflix's Chef's Table zoomed in on Crenn's distinguished career and namesake restaurant Atelier Crenn.

Samuelsson placed sixth on The Next Iron Chef in 2011 and has served as a judge on shows such as Chopped and Top Chef: Family Style. He also memorably introduced Anthony Bourdain to Ethiopian cuisine in a 2015 episode of Parts Unknown.Chefs once again battle head-to-head in the new series, premiering on Netflix on Wednesday, June 15. Watch the teaser below.

Tsai's take on East-West cuisine has led him to opening the restaurants Blue Ginger and Blue Dragon. His series Simply Ming is PBS's longest-running cooking show.

Last but not least, Cámara is the chef behind acclaimed Mexican restaurants Contramar, Entremar, Itacate Del Mar, and Caracol Del Mar. Her work drives sustainability efforts in the restaurant industry.

Alton Brown returns to the kitchen stadium to host with Kristen Kish. Dacascos reprises his role of The Chairman.

Based on Fuji Television Network's format, the series is reborn with a supersized approach. "It's been called the toughest culinary challenge a chef will ever experience. This is where world-class cuisine meets high-octane sports. Five new trailblazing Iron Chefs will welcome brave Challenger Chefs to the reimagined Kitchen Stadium, where they'll face off and be pushed to the limits of endurance and creativity, as they cook up extraordinary culinary creations," Netflix teases of the eight-episode series. "The competition's most successful Challenger will return to battle in a grand finale for the chance to be named the first ever 'Iron Legend.'"

Eytan Keller, Daniel Calin, and Ross Weintraub serve as executive producers for the series produced by Keller Productions, in association with 3 Ball Productions. Netflix will also be releasing Iron Chef Mexico and Iron Chef Brazil this year.

Paramount-owned Channel 5 is reviving BBC format Challenge Anneka after almost 30 years. Led by presenter Anneka Rice, the show involves Rice being dropped at secret locations to meet individuals at the heart of a challenge, which she, along with a team of volunteers and regular Dave the Soundman, then has to help solve. The show was a cult hit for BBC One, running from 1989 to 1995 and revived by ITV for specials in 2006. Channel 5 has rebooted several older UK shows of late including BBC drama All Creatures Great and Small and quiz format Eggheads. "There's never been a better time to bring back such a loved series to our screens," said Guy Davies, Commissioning Editor VP Non Scripted UK Originals Channel 5/Paramount+. ITV Studios label Twofour is producing.

No word on whether the show will air stateside on Paramount+, where once upon a time, the format was tried as "Challenge America".

Fix this darn mistake after we let Calvin Harris end the class of 2012.

And now let's go to the mistake: Where did the kids wear ears? On the Mickey Mouse Club of course. Even the 1977 version had variety to it.

They say you can't throw rocks at a glass house but..................

ABC decided to build one. The Glass House featured 14 strangers living in a house made of glass, with cameras recording their every move. At selected days and times, viewers can watch a live feed into the house. There are weekly eliminations, in which the public decides which of the contestants are eliminated from the game. Aside from choosing who is eliminated, viewers also dictate what the contestants wear, where they sleep and what they eat.[4] While in the house, the contestants will split into two groups and compete in various physical and mental competitions.[5] The captains of the two teams are the two contestants who have received the fewest votes from the public. After losing a challenge, the captain of the losing team is sent to limbo, along with a second member of that team which is voted on by the house. While in limbo, the public will vote which of the two contestants deserves to go back into the house and which one should permanently be eliminated from the game. The contestant with the fewest votes is eliminated, while the other will return to the house.[6][7][8] The contestants are spoken to by a robotic female voice, which they referred to as the "Oracle" up until Day 3, when it was revealed the public would decide the voice's name. After the airing of the first live feed, online blogs and forums labeled the voice "FaRi", a portmanteau of the words faux and Siri, the personal assistant found on Apple's iPhone.

Besides choosing whom to eliminate from the game, viewers were given several options that affected the game. A pre-season poll allowed voters to choose where contestants sleep, their food for the first night, and how the first competition was split up. A "favorite player" poll was posted on the website, in which viewers could select as many contestants as they want and choose them as their favorite. During the live feeds, viewers asked several questions which they will answer live. On the first live feed episode contestants had to guess how the majority of viewers answered the questions, but the following day the public were allowed to choose what the contestants did during the live feed. In a similar fashion, the viewers also chose what rooms the contestants slept in and could even influence their every day life such as forcing them to talk with a British accent for 24 hours or walking backwards for 24 hours.

So it's basically Big Brother becoming Big Sister. However............

On May 4, 2012, CBS issued a letter to ABC threatening legal action over The Glass House, as the format had strong similarities to its own series Big Brother, and that its production staff contained at least 18 members who had previously worked on Big Brother and were "privy to trade secrets and other confidential, proprietary information and signed broad and binding nondisclosure agreements" in relation to the format.[12] On May 10, 2012, CBS went forward with a lawsuit against ABC, and sought a restraining order to halt the series' premiere.[13][14][15]

Gary Allen Feess of the District Court for the Central District of California declined the request, arguing that it would unduly harm ABC's investment in producing the series, that elements of the format CBS claimed to be infringing were "generic" and not inherently novel, that production techniques were not considered intellectual property, and many of the claimed production techniques were actually common industry practices.[15]

On August 17, 2012, CBS dismissed its lawsuit against ABC, citing the series' poor ratings. However, the network continued to pursue arbitration cases against several executives for their misappropriation of intellectual property related to the Big Brother format.[16] In August 2013, CBS reached a settlement with ABC.

So what did we learn? Never copy a format based on another network especially their own.
