Me:Welcome everybody to Game Show Live! where we get lit and get involved. Let's kick it off with......

The Double Toasted opening toss up story.

If you’re looking to indulge in a new baking competition series then School of Chocolate is the upcoming Netflix original for you!

The eight episode series is one you can binge over the long holiday weekend with its runtime falling at under six hours. You’ll be dropped into world class chocolatier Chef Amaury Guichon‘s competition kitchen as he teaches the contestants the methods he’s developed to create the exceptional pastries and chocolate showpieces that have made him famous.

No one is a newcomer in School of Chocolate but experience is a key component to success in Guichon’s challenging course. For each test there is a new technique he wants them to try and by the end of the competition, he will decide who is Best in Class. That student will not only win the life-changing $50,000 grand prize, but they’ll also have the opportunity to teach an international master level class at Guichon’s pastry academy in Las Vegas. It’s a chance to get their name out there and establish the foundation of their business-owning dreams.

Of course, there will be blood, sweat, and tears along the road to victory even if there’s camaraderie among the students initially. With their futures on the line, learning and growing is important but so is coming out on top!

School of Chocolate premieres Friday, Nov. 26 at 12 a.m. PT/3:01 a.m. ET. If you plan to shop until you drop on Black Friday, this baking competition will be home waiting for you to settle down and unwind with as it’s series all about sweet and decadent creations.

Remember Nightbirde from AGT? Well............................

Jane “Nightbirde” Marczewski, a singer who received the Golden Buzzer from Simon Cowell on America’s Got Talent, provided an update on her cancer treatment after she withdrew from the talent competition in August.

The singer said that treatment has been going well, if not a bit slowly.

“It’s happening slow little by little, day by day. I’m getting a little better,” she said in a recent interview. “I did get a scan result back and a bunch of stuff that was there disappeared. A bunch of the big stuff has gone down in size so we’re on the way.”

In June, the Ohio native made a splash with her AGT audition, where she performed her original number “It’s Okay.” Cowell honored the singer with the highly-sought after Golden Buzzer and his fellow panelists honored her with a standing ovation. Months after her audition, Nightbirde dropped from the NBC show sharing that her “fight with cancer is demanding all of my energy and attention.”

Now making some positive headway in her treatment, Marczewski reflected on battling cancer in the public eye and how her experience with her rare illness has given her a new perspective on life, especially with Thanksgiving around the corner.

“Life is so imperfect and there’s so much hard stuff and unfair stuff mixed in, sometimes we don’t recognize that our dreams are happening and miracles are happening,” she reflected. “The miracle I wanted – I wish I could skip the pain, that this would go away super fast.” She continued: “There’s 100 different miracles in the fight. If I only take the ones that taste sweet I won’t get any miracles at all. So I’m grateful for whatever I have.”

Guy Fieri is expanding his successful restaurant empire and is searching for one talented food entrepreneur to run their own Chicken Guy! franchise on Guy's Chance of a Lifetime, premiering on Sunday, January 2 at 9pm ET/PT on Food Network, and available a week earlier to discovery+ subscribers on Sunday, December 26.

Guy was flooded with applications from all over the country and chose the seven top candidates to participate in the most intense, high stakes job interview they could ever dream of, to become the owner of the newest location of the Chicken Guy! franchise. The candidates must prove they can successfully lead every aspect of the food business, from culinary, to marketing, and to front of house hospitality. Over the course of the six hour-long episodes, there is unexpected drama and a surprising turn of events when one of the candidates breaks under the pressure. Only one will have their destiny changed forever when they win the ultimate chance of lifetime.

"I'll tell you right now, this is NOT your every day, run-of-the-mill competition show. No eliminations, no meaningless cook-offs each week. It's a real deal job interview for a life-changing opportunity," said Fieri. "The candidates on Guy's Chance of a Lifetime have to prove that they are the best all-around talent in the food business and if they can do that, we're in business... together."

"We rolled cameras around the clock on Guy's Chance of a Lifetime documenting every aspect of this unprecedented, grueling, 24/7 job interview. To win, these applicants study through the night, then rise at dawn to apply their new skills on the real-life restaurant line with Guy assessing their every move. The pressure and stakes couldn't be higher. It's an intense journey and thrilling to watch," said Courtney White, President, Food Network and Streaming Food Content, Discovery Inc.

To up the difficulty of the toughest interview in America, Guy and business partner Robert Earl have hand selected a panel of experts consisting of business and food professionals to help mentor the candidates each week and determine the winner, including: Maneet Chauhan, Hunter Fieri, Anthony Hoy Fong, Antonia Lofaso, Christian Petroni, and John Thall.

Alex Guarnaschelli is one of the most accomplished and revered chefs in the culinary arena, having won virtually every battle she has ever competed in. Now, over the course of five weeks, 15 brave chefs from across the United States take their best shot at beating Alex for the ultimate culinary triumph in the new competition series, Alex vs America, premiering Sunday, January 2nd at 10pm ET/PT on Food Network.

Hosted by the acclaimed chef Eric Adjepong, each episode features three culinary superstars competing over two rounds against one another as well as against Alex. These competitors might hail from different states, but they all share the same mastery of a specific ingredient or dish, one that they have spent endless hours in their own kitchens perfecting and which will now be tested in an effort to take down one of the country's most formidable chefs.

At the start of each battle, Alex and the competitors learn what the challenge will be, with the chefs having the ability to work together in selecting variables for their dishes as well as the amount of time they give themselves and Alex to cook with. Each finished plate will undergo a blind tasting, with only the top three chefs advancing and the least successful from the challenge being immediately sent home, even if it is Alex. In the end, it all comes down to what's on the plate. Will the final two chefs outcook and outshine Alex, earning bragging rights over an award-winning Iron Chef? Or will Alex's legendary winning streak continue, sending all the ambitious competitors home with nothing but their disappointment?

Fans can also stream Alex vs America on discovery+ with new episodes available weekly, starting with an early look at the premiere on Saturday, December 25th.

Added Guarnaschelli, "Truth is, I have loved competitive cooking for as long as I can remember, first watching, then judging and competing myself. Now, I finally have the opportunity to invite other adrenaline-junkies to join me in doing what we love, cooking our butts off, and Alex vs America is literally my dream come true. That said, what I have learned the hard way is, while I love winning, I hate losing more."

"As a trusted culinary voice on The Kitchen to her no-holds-barred judging on Chopped, or seamlessly shifting into hosting competitors on Supermarket Stakeout, there truly isn't anything that Alex Guarnaschelli cannot do," said Courtney White, President, Food Network and Streaming Food Content, Discovery Inc. "On Alex vs America, she has a bullseye on her back, as these talented chefs set their gazes on defeating Alex. Sounds easy enough but these competitors will quickly learn why Alex is one of the most respected chefs with an innate ability to conquer any obstacle in her way. Viewers are in for a fast-paced and action-packed competition."

Buzz-GSN where we ask you guys on the Game Show Network Facebook page anything and everything.

https://youtu.be/uxhY1Yg-9sU

We kick it off with Kim Lowe.

Watching reruns of CATCH 21 on Game Show Network. Question: According to the Romance Writers of America, a romance novel must end with ????
Answer: Optimistically.
Needless to say, my ears perked up when I heard Alfonso say "Romance Writers of America"!

For a consulation on that question, visit your local library. Next, Gaither L. saunders jr.

I will never understand how the producers of People Puzzler manages to find the DUMBEST people on the planet to compete.

But it's also a simple little game. Next up, Karen Colizzzi Noonan.

I enjoy watching People Puzzler but ever since the show began I've had one burning question. If the goal is to rack up the most points, why do players consistently avoid the longest words and go for the short ones? Is there some kind of strategy I missing here?? It just makes no sense.

They should go for big points with longer words in case they know. Hey, it worked for The Cross-Wits. David Steinle is next.

Did anyone see Friday's episode of Tug of Words? God those women were CLUELESS. Also was nice to see the arrogant men get their comeuppance in the bonus round.

Competition, you say? Maybe Jac jordan Roney could end it.

Watching Tug of Words host is like watching paint dry.
Ugh, get someone who has some life to them not a has been.

Come on, Ahmad Rashad is a TV legend. Were you thinking of Tony Romo?

(Song stops)

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Time for a Mistplay game break. Over the turkey day weekend, I got called to babysit "The Gunshow" Brett Michaels' 3 girls and took them to a movie while he was away training for a UWN taping at the Xumo Arena. We were actually the only ones there but got home before the credits. One thing the girls didn't see was the marquee guy being dyslexic to confuse everyone with movie titles. See if you can decipher it.

See if you can guess this movie after a Pandora song break from once again, Bonnie Gordon and Casey Abrams. Guys?

Good job, you 2. But what's the answer? It's................................

And they all got confused as to why it's a Halloween movie. Well, it is, but it's also a Christmas movie. Confused? No.

Now here is NerdSync with a look at a comic book that is so bad...............I'll let you watch.

Guess I'll get back to Comixology.

27 Years. That's how long Game Show Network has been doing. We went from watching a what game show fans are having a paradise in its early stages to some original stuff to give fans a spin on the network to a Family Feud fan's fantasy. But what is the science behind a GSN original?

1. The host is always (but sometimes) right

When America Says debuted back in 2018, John Michael Higgins fit the role perfectly.  People can come from cable shows like Graham Elwood who came from Strip Poker on USA  to fit right on "Cram" or Marc Summers fresh out of History IQ to do "Wintution," or maybe even sitcom characters like Doug Heffernan's wife doing People Puzzler or Carlton Banks doing "Catch 21," or maybe ven senior citizens like Wink Martindale or most recently, Ahmad Rashad on Tug of Words, they can sometimes be enertaining. Or boring.

2. If you wanna re-do it the first time, get the host who did it at that time.

Look at Chain Reaction. They tried it with Mike Catherwood as the new host, but since Dylan Lane tried it in 2006, he decided to shave his head bald and do the newer version to fit right in. As Catch 21 is concerned, it was the same great show but adding Witney Carson was a welcome addition, but didn't need points to keep the game on going.

3. Music? Yeah, we got music.

GSN once depended on its composers for its iconic pieces like the 3rd season of Lingo and Whammy! Nowadays, Vincent Ott is what you call the Edd Kalehoff of the network. He can do Best Ever Trivia Show, Master Minds, the new Catch 21 or whatever, he can do it all. ANd I mean all.

4. Smells like Team Sprit, and it's actually perfume and cologne.

If you got a team like the Camp counselors or the art teachers, then assemble, sign up and play when the ceiling's lights go up and you could win $1000 which is the least that virtually every GSN program is getting if you win the main game in an attempt to win the grand prize of $10,000. Or $15,000 if you figured out what America just said. Trust me on that.

5. if you want viewers, promote it on morning TV

If you've been watching Today on NBC for years, hosts can promote their shows and give the kids a little demonstration on how the game works and why it works so that people can become more interested in it or..........whatever.

and the last little thing of all..............

IT'S ONLY A GAME!!!!!!!!!!

Over the years, GSN has stuck with many hits post-2000 and today, it's like 2002 all over again in a pinch.  I wonder which original will be headed into synidcation if successful.

And there you have it. The science of a GSN original. They'll be a test on it later, I can assure you that.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

That's it for this week, today's consolation prize is fruitcake. GIve it to your in-laws when they visit but don't give it to yourself. Moron.
