Its state-of-the-art set design, incredible visuals, and unique concept allowed The Cube to obtain popularity among the viewers. As part of the show, the contestants get nine lives to ace seven tasks. If they succeed, they can win as much as $250,000.

Much more than a sight to behold, the Cube itself serves as a high-pressure environment. On occasion, the Cube also offers commentary, engaging in conversation with Dwyane. But, who provides the voiceover for the Cube?

In the British version of the TV series, the Cube was voiced by legendary actor Colin McFarlaneAs Colin revealed in a tweet posted on June 3, 2021, he is continuing to voice the Cube in the U.S. version of the show as well.

"Coming soon. Catch me as the voice of the Cube USA. 'I am 2,000 cubic feet of intimidating!' And @DwyaneWade as the host in this edge-of-your-seat game show! Do you think you've got what it takes to #BeatTheCube? Find out when it premieres June 10 on @TBSNetwork," Colin tweeted.

Not Quite Live in Front of a dark area near the exits somewhere

As the delta variant surges worldwide and COVID-19 positives are up and down, daytime shows haven't opened the floodgates to let audiences back in all at once. Broadcasting + Cable has the scoop on how and why some audiences are rejoining the shows they love.

New York City permitted audiences to return as of June 1, but at that point, most talk shows weren't in production. Los Angeles' fluctuating COVID numbers have meant that the city is being extra-careful. One talk show that has allowed small groups of fans back in the studio is The Wendy Williams Show

The Debmary-Mercury program began by seating one-third of its audience capacity (about 40 fans); as of July 1, the show had increased that to about 75% capacity (about 90 fans) and hopes to increase that to full capacity, public-health and union guidelines permitting, before production wraps this month. Fans must show proof of vaccination and their IDs on arrival; host, staffers, and crew have all gotten their jabs, testing is available, and most wear masks, per union guidelines.

Debmar-Mercury will launch Nick Cannon and the You Bet Your Life reboot this fall. The company plans to film Nick Cannon's self-titled talk  show in front of a full, in-person audience, as long as that's fine by union and public-health standards, in New York City. L.A-based You Bet Your Life will have a smaller audience of about 60 fans.

Some game shows have alternate plans. Game show 25 Words or Less won't welcome viewers into the studio, according to Stephen Brown, executive VP, programming and development, Fox Television Stations. Pictionary's test run premiered July 12; the program followed pandemic filming guidelines for crew and talent alike, although it lacks an audience. All of its 20 episodes were taped in one week in June.

What about other talk shows usually filmed in front of live audiences? On July 1, the unions in charge of production had planned to issue revised guidelines for pandemic production, but these were delayed as talks continue; these discussions were expected to resume as of July 6.

Too good to host College Bowl, but is he too good to throw?

Peyton Manning could be making a comeback as an MLB pitcher. The former Indianapolis Colts and Denver Broncos quarterback was at Coors Field in Denver on Tuesday night to throw out the first pitch at the 2021 MLB All-Star Game. He was wearing a Larry Walker Colorado Rockies Jersey, and when he threw the pitch, the ball failed to get over home plate.

The not-so-great first pitch led to some interesting responses on social media. One fan wrote: "I don’t understand how professional athletes can’t do what a relatively/below average 13-year-old athlete does 70 times a game." There were other fans who didn't understand why Manning threw out the first pitch since he never played pro baseball. There were others who believed a Rockies legend should have thrown out the first pitch.

This comes one day after Manning appeared on the MLB Network and touched on a number of topics, including Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers. There are rumors that the Denver Broncos are looking to trade for Rodgers, but Manning, who played for Denver from 2012-2015, doesn't see that happening.

“I hope he plays somewhere this year. The fact that Aaron Rodgers might not play this year, I can’t fathom it,” Manning said. “He’s too good of a player, too fun to watch for the fans. I personally hope it’s in Green Bay. That’s what I see him as. I hope they can make amends and work it out. That is team is so close, if he were to leave there it’d be a major change, obviously, for them. My gut is he’s not coming to Denver. My gut is Denver’s gonna have Drew Lock or Teddy Bridgewater be their quarterback. At this point, you’ve kind got to know what your plan is. You can’t be having a new quarterback three weeks before the season.”

Paddy McGuinness is to take over from Sue Barker as the host of A Question Of Sport.

The BBC has also announced that Olympic hockey player Sam Quek and England and Lions rugby star Ugo Monye will join him has team captains.

Former captains Matt Dawson and Phil Tufnell left the BBC quiz show along with Sue in May.

The new trio will begin filming for the new series during the summer and the show will return later in the year.

Top Gear presenter Paddy said: “I love the fiercely competitive nature of sports stars coupled with having a laugh.

“That’s why A Question Of Sport has always been one of my favourite shows and having been weaned on it from an early age, this is an honour and opportunity I’m certainly not taking lightly.”

Paddy said he grew up watching the show when it was hosted by David Vine and later by David Coleman, but it was Sue who “made this show her own”.

She had fronted the long-running quiz show for 24 years before her final episode was broadcast.

The UK version of Love Island suffered a security breach on Tuesday night after YouTube prankster Omer Majid broke into the villa complex in Mallorca, Spain.

Producers said the trespasser was removed immediately after he managed to find a way past Love Island’s tight security protocols.

The intrusion is particularly unfortunate this year, given the islanders are in a closely controlled Covid-secure bubble.

Deadline reports that Majid did not come into contact with any of the contestants.

ITV Studios-owned producer Lifted Entertainment has now beefed up security on the show to prevent future break-ins. A Love Island spokeswoman said: “Last night a security breach was identified and an intruder was removed from the villa with immediate effect. The safety of both our islanders and our production crew remains our primary concern.

“As part of our stringent COVID safety measures, the Villa area that was trespassed has been fully deep cleaned before being made accessible again to the islanders and crew.”

Craig Charles will host a new Channel 4 game show called Moneybags.

Moneybags is described as a "brand new fast-paced, high stakes quiz" with thousands of pounds on offer for winners.

From the makers of The Million Pound Drop, the show sees individual players face off against each other where the key to success is quick thinking, sound judgement and a little knowledge.

Craig Charles said: "I'm over the moon to announce that I'm hosting Moneybags, a new big money quiz show for Channel 4 and we're looking for contestants to take part. If you want to have a go at grabbing thousands of pounds apply now..."

The broadcaster is said to be making the game show, which will see contestants answering questions with the chance to grab bags off a conveyor belt, with each containing between £1,000 and £100,000 - or even getting the player disqualified.

A source told The Sun newspaper: "A seven-figure jackpot is still the holy grail for gameshows, so this is a bold move by Channel 4. "After all there's still only one show on TV which has that prize and it's ITV's 'Who Wants To Be A Millionaire?'

"But when those bags start moving along the conveyer belt that's exactly how much money is contained inside."

The series is due to start filming in Manchester imminently, and it could launch on C4 by the end of the year with a star host at the helm.

For the contestants, the program will test their knowledge - but they'll also need to rely on some good fortune.

The insider added: "The contestants just have to be very smart and more than a little lucky."
