Supermarket Sweep was back tonight (September 11) with host Rylan Clark-Neal helping the newest crop of shoppers go wild in the aisles.
But as much as viewers are enjoying the new series, it hasn't gone unnoticed that there is a very specific age demographic of the contestants, and it hasn't gone down very well.
One person tweeted: "What's with all these young people on #SupermarketSweep? When are we gonna see middle age people or OAPs on the show?"
Another wrote: "I haven't watched much of this new #SupermarketSweep but one thing I've noticed is that every contestant is the same kind of person in their 20s. I get that it's ITV2 and that's kind of their demographic but is there any need to full on exclude anyone nearing the age of 40??"
Digital Spy has reached out to the ITV2 show for comment.

ITV bosses have come up with a plan to help Paul “The Sinnerman” Sinha stay on quiz show The Chase while he is battling Parkinson’s.
Those with the condition suffer tremors and slowness of movement. In every show, one of the Chasers walks on and takes their seat at the top of the ‘‘cash builder’’ ladder.
Fellow Chaser Mark “The Beast” Labbett said: “Paul will still be doing The Chase. There are plans afoot if the worst comes to the worst for how to deal with moving him down the set.
“If he has problems walking we will literally show him walking once. That is courtesy.”
Mark added: “His mind is still great. He won the British quiz championships at the weekend.”

Mike “The Situation” Sorrentino can once again hit the gym, do his laundry and tan on his own time, after the “Jersey Shore” star was released from federal prison on Thursday morning. Sorrentino had been locked up since January after pleading guilty to one charge of tax evasion in 2018.
“We are elated to finally close this chapter of our life. Thank you to our family, friends and fans for the continuous love and support during this time, it brought us so much peace and comfort,” a spokesperson for Sorrentino told NBC News.
Sorrentino, alongside his brother, Marc Sorrentino, was accused of falsifying tax returns on about $9 million in income. Prosecutors said one trick the brothers used was to deposit slightly less than $10,000 at a time into their back accounts, allowing them to skirt reporting income to the IRS. Marc Sorrentino plead guilty to one count of aiding the preparation of a fraudulent tax return and sentenced to two years in prison.

The school season has just begun for most students and we've recruited our Game Show Live! kid reporter Ella Scott to give us her back to school haul in her home. Ella, please.

Stop the Dance.........now!

Cameron Mathison has been diagnosed with kidney cancer and will undergo surgery this Thursday to remove a tumor, he announced on Hallmark Channel’s Home & Family, which he co-hosts.
“About a month ago, I had an MRI for some gut issues I’ve been having, and during that MRI they found a tumor on my right kidney. It’s consistent with Renal Cell Carcinoma … or kidney cancer,” the All My Children alum later elaborated on Instagram, alongside a photo of him with Vanessa, his wife if 17 years, and their children Lucas and Leila.
“The good news” is that perhaps as credit to his “healthy lifestyle and diet,” Mathison reported that the cancer had not spread to anywhere else in his body, despite the kidney tumor appearing to be about 10 years in the making. “I am extremely lucky that we found it early,” he said.
With surgery scheduled for Sept. 12, Mathison is “hoping to receive positive thoughts, prayers, or whatever you feel comfortable with.”

Chrissy Teigen addresses her recent Twitter contretemps with President Donald Trump on The Ellen DeGeneres Show today, saying with a resigned, “We all just wait for our day to come and mine happened to be on Sunday.”
“My heart stopped because at that moment you know you’re just about to get the wildest group of people ever” responding on social media, Teigen tells DeGeneres on the episode airing today.

Trump lashed out at Teigen and husband John Legend after seeing Legend discussing criminal justice reform on MSNBC. Apparently feeling he wasn’t getting credit due, Trump blasted Legend as a “boring musician” and Teigen, who was not part of the MSNBC broadcast, as Legend’s “filthy mouthed wife.”

In a response that quickly began trending, Teigen responded, “lol what a ------ ---- -----. tagged everyone but me. an honor, mr. president.”
On today’s Ellen, Teigen laughs about the situation, saying she’s “still working on how to copyright” her much-retweeted phrase that sometimes gets shortened to a family-friendlier “PAB.”
Teigen says she couldn’t initially read Trump’s tweet because the president had already blocked her from his account, but she started getting phone alerts and screen shots early Sunday.
“I was really angry,” says the Bring the Funny judge. “I think my eyes filled up with water at the shock of it. He just goes on these rants.”

Survive the Prison

Bruce Beresford-Redman, a former producer on reality series Survivor, has been released from a Mexican prison after spending years behind bars in connection with the death of his wife.
The TV producer was convicted in the killing of his wife Mónica Burgos during a family vacation with their two children in 2010. Her naked and beaten body was found in a septic tank at a Cancun resort, on what would have been her 42nd birthday.
Investigators said at the time that Burgos died following a violent confrontation with her husband, and the case made international headlines.
Beresford-Redman, now 48, maintained his innocence throughout the investigation. In a 48 Hours television special, he insisted he’d done nothing wrong.

Kids........look at this:

The PAL-y in question is one belonging to internet star Ali Spagnola, but they're proud to have that 4k milestone. In honor of that, they did giant spin art. If you think a Spirograph makes creativity grow, check this out.

We spin to the next story.

Sorry, Steve Harvey.

It’s a hot start for the ladies in a crowded daytime syndicated talk show field. NBCUniversal’s Kelly Clarkson premiered yesterday to a 1.9 household rating across primary runs in the metered markets. That marks the highest debut rating for a first run syndicated show in seven years, since September 2012 when Katie Couric’s Katie and Steve Harvey opened with a 2.8 and 1.5 HH rating, respectively.
Kelly got a lot of attention when her first scheduled guest, Kevin Hart, had to pull out after a car accident and pal Dwayne Johnson stepped in to replace him and provide an update on his condition. The show, which also featured Steve Carell introducing the American Idol winner and The Voice coach, improved +36% over lead-in and +73% over the year ago (Sept. 2018) time period.
That time period is 2 PM, leading to The Ellen DeGeneres Show, on most NBC stations that aired Steve Harvey‘s successor, Steve, in the hour before replacing it with Kelly Clarkson.
In the target Women 25-54 demo, Kelly averaged a 0.8 rating, the best debut mark in five years with a +33% increase over lead-in and a 100% increased versus September 2018.

Todd Palin has filed for divorce from Sarah Palin, the former governor of Alaska and 2008 Republican vice presidential candidate, after 31 years of marriage.
In a document filed Friday in Anchorage, Alaska, Superior Court, Todd Palin cites an “incompatibility of temperament” in his marriage to Sarah Palin “such that they find it impossible to continue to live together as husband and wife.” The divorce filing and court records use only initials to refer to the pair, with Todd Mitchell Palin listed as TMP and Sarah Louise Palin only identified as SLP.
Neither Sarah Palin nor Todd Palin or his lawyer has returned CNN’s requests for comment. The divorce filing was first reported by Alaska blogger Craig Medred.
Friday’s filing includes a child custody jurisdiction affidavit for the family’s youngest child, who is 11. The affidavit is a standard form in divorces in Alaska involving minor children that includes information about children who will be involved in custody proceedings.
Palin served as governor of Alaska from 2006 to 2009 and shot into national prominence in the summer of 2008, when the late Sen. John McCain picked her to be his running mate in the presidential race, which he would eventually lose to Barack Obama.

I think we're going to end it with Killarney Star. Unicornopia is already out on Digital music services. You'll hear a ton of songs she wrote and composed like this one.....

But for now, here's a new "old" song......I'm not lying from her temporary room somewhere.

That's all for now, but remember one thing: Ever played the accordion in a tuxedo?
So until next time and all the time.....play on playas.
