VO: This is GSN The Know. The most informed and entertained blog in the United States of America. Now, from the WIlton-North building, here is the man about games, Pierre Kelly.
Me: And with that, we start another festive week of GSN information to your brain. We have something to see & hear this week, so let's start off with....

The Starting Line.

Is GSN done with block scheduling? If the answer is No, then we'll tell. But if the answer is Yes......then why?

Well, if you look at it, There's "The Chase" & Idiotest on Tuesdays and Skin Wars on Wednesdays recently, but today....it isn't going to work. That's because Feud takes over the 9 CST slot and the originals that premiered including Feud broke up. With the new ones on the way, it signifies the end of the block scheduling era as we know it, going back to just another 7 nights in this network.

In a sec, holiday programming and what's a revival? We'll define that.....but only if you stay tuned.

(song fades out)

(Quick fade out)

And that didn't take long to return. Bring in the rake, because it's....

Holiday House cleaning.

The week before Christmas brings in this......

*Game Show Flashback airs Tuesday at 9:30pm (after a rerun of Idiotest); replacing the 2nd run of Idiotest. This special reruns at 12:30am.
*I've Got a Secret with host Steve Allen airs Tuesday latenights at 2-3am.
*What's My Line with host John Daly airs Wednesday, Thursday and Friday latenight at 2am, while I've Got a Secret airs Wednesday, Thursday and Friday latenight at 2:30am.
*On Sunday, NBC's Deal or No Deal will air from 9-11am; replacing syndicated Deal or No Deal.
*On Sunday, Game Show Flashback will rerun at 11am; replacing syndicated Deal or No Deal (Deal or No Deal will still air at 11:30am).
*On Sunday night, "New to GSN" episodes of What's My Line? and To Tell The Truth air at 11pm and 11:30pm.
The new One at the top starring Ben Gleib will lose a 2nd Idiotest show, but Black & White Overnight makes it's promising return. Plus, never before aired episodes will air on Sunday.

Buzzerblog reported by the next week, "The Line" will have its 2-hour special on the 23rd as does rare color eps of B&W classics 2 days prior. Also....

*December 24th: Christmas Eve will present several different programming blocks containing something for just about any fan.
  • From 8:00AM to 12:00PM ET is Christmas-themed Press Your Luck.
  • Steve Harvey’s Family Feud airs from 12:00PM to 1:00PM.
  • At 1:00PM ET is a repeat of The Line.
  • 3:00PM to 6:00PM ET sees more Harvey Feud.
  • A seven-hour marathon of The Chase airs from 6:00PM ET to 1:00AM ET.
  • A 90 minute clip special What’s My Line at 25 airs from 1:00AM to 2:30AM ET.

WML at 25 on Midnight. This we got to see.

*December 25th: On Christmas day, a stack of clip specials airs from 1:00PM to 4:30PM ET, including Game Show Moments Gone Bananas, TV’s Funniest Game Show Moments, and Game Show Flashback. An Idiotest marathon then airs from 4:30PM to 2:00AM ET.

*December 26th: Spend the day after Christmas with a marathon of Steve Harvey’s Family Feud from 8:00AM ET to 8:00PM ET.

*January 1st: Finally, ring in the new year with a marathon of Baggage, ahead of its revival Baggage on the Road in 2015. A marathon of the Jerry Springer-hosted dating game airs from 4:00PM ET to 8:00PM ET followed by a new one-hour special Baggage: Most Outrageous Moments at 8:00PM ET.

Have to take the Idiotest Marathon on Christmas. 12 hours of Steve day after Christmas is what I want to avoid. As for Christmas Day.......Why is GSMGB repeating like Thanksgiving?

(song stops)

Sticking with Feud, the network made a goof when there are no longer "New" eps of the show. 180 of them were aired when the new season they acquired had arrived. Everybody makes mistteaks, huh? Now on to.....

The GSN Closet. It's our year-end clearance. Here are our favorites from our fans.

(song stops)

One last thing, we say adios to Mary Ann Mobley. A former Miss America winner, she was on Match Game and other shows too. May she RIP.

On to the 2nd intermission presented by swagbucks.com. It's Kristen Bell & Straight no Chaser with a new holiday joint.

My text reads the 3rd period, so let's do that.

What is a revival? You take a classic and make it work or not. Real simple, right? Well, Lingo got started in 1987, but 2 times is got revived with the Woolery version being the hit favorite. The Newlywed game had 2 hosts, but had 3 couples fighting over a vacation. The Pyramid wanted to bring back its classic self, but had 40 shows.....and it was over. Camouflage was revived, but had nothing to do with the 1980 version, so that's out. Look, when GSN revives another classic like IGAS did with Bill Dwyer or Chain Reaction with Dylan Lane. Will it be a hit or a miss? They'll know come developmenting.
