Dating game shows have come a long long way.

and today.................

Love is in the air - until it's not. Today, Netflix announced that it's taking the viral dating series, Pop the Balloon, to the next level by streaming a reimagined version LIVE every Thursday at 8 p.m. ET beginning April 10, 2025 only on Netflix.

Pop the Balloon LIVE will be the same Pop the Balloon fans know and love, but now with even higher stakes, fresh twists and celebrity surprises. In this electrifying dating experiment, singles test their chemistry while trying to keep their balloon intact. As connections form and tensions rise, one thing is certain: when your balloon pops, so does your shot at love. Now, for the first time ever, Pop the Balloon is going live on Netflix, bringing real-time eliminations, unpredictable dilemmas, and unfiltered romance straight to viewers as it happens.

Alongside everyday contestants, some of your favorite reality stars and personalities including Johnny Bananas (The Challenge), Chase DeMoor (Too Hot To Handle), Farrah Abraham (Teen Mom), and Zaina Sesay (The Ultimatum) will join the show stepping into a whole new dating experience- raw, real and unlike anything they've faced before.

Yvonne Orji hosts for Sharp Entertainment (part of Sony Pictures Television) Executive Producers are Matt Sharp, Dan Adler and Bonnie Biggs (for Sharp Entertainment); Ellen Rocamora; Bolia Matundu (BM) and Arlette Amuli.

Matt Sharp, executive producer, says, "We couldn't be more excited to expand and reimagine Pop the Balloon on Netflix. This new iteration builds on the original's core concept while pushing the boundaries of connection, chemistry and unpredictability. Partnering with BM, Arlette and Netflix has been an incredible experience, and we can't wait for audiences to see how the show evolves."

Bolia Matundu (BM) and Arlette Amuli, executive producers, add, "We're thrilled to see Pop the Balloon take on a new life on Netflix. From day one, we've kept love and fun at the heart of the show, and watching it evolve and soar beyond our wildest dreams has been truly exciting. As executive producers, we're proud to support this next chapter and can't wait for both new and longtime fans to experience it. Yvonne is engaging, witty and authentic - and we are looking forward to her serving as the host for the reimagined version at Netflix!"

"It's really great to see BM and Arlette's vision expand to this version, due to their creativity, consistency and desire for more connection. After playing the 'unlucky in love' Molly Carter for 5 seasons on Insecure, I know a thing or two about looking for love in a hopeless place. Hopefully the singles on Pop The Balloon Live will have much more success," says Orji. "As host, I'm looking forward to striking that delicate balance of heart and humor for our daters and the Netflix audience at home."

Pop the Balloon LIVE joins Netflix's roster of ongoing and past live programming including WWE Raw, Everybody's Live with John Mulaney, Live from the Other Side with Tyler Henry, Paul-Tyson, Dinner Time Live with David Chang, NFL Christmas Day on Netflix and much more; and dating social experiments including Love is Blind, Too Hot to Handle, Perfect Match, The Ultimatum: Marry or Move On, The Ultimatum: Queer Love, Later Daters and many others.

The Hourglass has finally ran out for Taylor Tomlinson.

CBS is halving its late-night output after canceling After Midnight, hosted by Taylor Tomlinson. The network canceled the show, which airs at 12:30am, after two seasons.

Tomlinson, a rising star in the stand-up world, said that she wanted to return to her “first passion” of touring.

As a result, CBS has decided to move out of programming the 12:30am slot, which was previously filled by The Late Late Show.

This marks a major blow to late-night in general, which has seen the number of late-night shows airing across broadcast, cable and streaming, fall over the last few years.

CBS had quietly renewed the show for a third season but had not announced it publicly. Its second season will run through June.

“Hosting After Midnight has genuinely been the experience of a lifetime, and I’ll be forever grateful for the opportunity to be part of this incredible journey,” she said. "Though it was an extremely tough decision, I knew I had to return to my first passion and return to stand-up touring full-time. I appreciate CBS, Stephen Colbert, the producers, and the entire After Midnight staff and crew for all the love, support, and unforgettable memories.”

Tomlinson has made three stand-up specials for Netflix over the last five years including 2020’s Quarter-Life Crisis, 2022’s Look At You and 2024’s Have It All. She is currently performing on her Save Me tour with dates in San Antonio later this month and over 60 more shows over the next ten months, including across Europe.

The series features a panel of three celebrity guests, including a large number of comedians, who compete in a series of topical segments from pop culture and social media.

Last year, it was renewed for a second season with Desus & Mero’s J.D. Amato joining as co-showrunner alongside Jack Martin in place of Eric Pierce.

During its run, Tomlinson did tweak elements of the show to make it feel more like a late-night show than a gameshow with a monologue, making a rare dive into politics ahead of the Presidential election last year.

The show, which shoots in LA, was also forced to pause production during the wildfires that engulfed the city earlier this year.

“I want to thank CBS for their constant support and invaluable partnership on After Midnight, and the whole staff for their amazing dedication. While we were excited and grateful for our third season to start in the fall, we respect Taylor’s decision to return to stand-up full time,” added Colbert.

After Midnight is produced by CBS Studios, Stephen Colbert’s Spartina Industries and Funny Or Die. Amato and Martin executive produce along with Stephen Colbert, Carrie Byalick, Tom Purcell and Evelyn McGee Colbert of Spartina Industries; James Dixon of Dixon Talent, Joe Farrell, Mike Farah, Whitney Hodack and Henry R. Muñoz III of Funny Or Die and Jason U. Jo Firestone was co-executive producer and head writer. Sharon Everitt directed. .

The Chase's primetime spin-off Beat The Chasers will return for a seventh series on ITV1 and ITVX.

The sixth series was kept on the shelf by ITV for nearly two years, having filmed in Spring 2023 and aired this January. The seventh series is due to go into production this Summer and air early next year on ITV1.

Beat The Chasers sees individuals take on all six Chasers - The Governess, The Vixen, The Menace, The Dark Destroyer, The Beast and The Sinnerman - in the hope of winning a huge cash prize. To build a cash pot, the contestants have to answer multiple choice questions - get the first one wrong, and they are out, but answer one or more correctly and they get to face the Chasers, who offer time and money in order to take them on.

If the contestants get all Cash Builder questions right, they are given a super offer to face all the Chasers for up to £600,000 - the endgame is a nail-biting head-to-head race against the clock. Run out of time before the Chasers and the contestants go home with nothing, but if the Chasers run out of time before them, they will win the money for their nominated charities. With Bradley Walsh as our presenter, is anyone good enough to take on the greatest quiz team that ever lived?

Beat The Chasers is available now on ITVX.

'Memba these girls?

ITV has announced a new gameshow called Win Win which it dubs the "most interactive quiz show ever".

Hosted by duo Mel Giedroyc and Sue Perkins, the format will allow viewers at home to play alongside contestants in the studio, winning the same prizes as those on screen.

The format - made in conjunction with The People's Postcode Lottery - will be stripped on Saturday nights for six weeks and in the final episode, one contestant is guaranteed to win a £1 million (US$1.29 million)

"We are delighted to have the brilliant Mel and Sue bringing this new format to life," said Katie Rawcliffe, ITV's director of entertainment. "Forget shouting at the telly or rowing with your family about the answers - you can actually join in and be in with a chance of winning the same prize you're seeing on screen." The show is due to air later this year.
